Christie began her court reporting career in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1978 after completing the Court & Conference Reporting program at Gateway Technical Institute in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Prior to and while attending court reporting school, she worked in customer relations and loan transactions in the credit union industry. At Gateway, Christie was selected for the Students Tutoring Students program through which she was partnered with a deaf student.
Christie has 30 years of reporting experience in the freelance field and in the Wisconsin Circuit Court and the United States District Court. She holds the title of Registered Professional Reporter and Registered Merit Reporter. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Court Reporters Association and is a member of the National Court Reporters Association. Her reporting experience has focused largely on medical, technical, and patent lawsuits in the deposition setting and daily copy trials; real-time depositions; and writing for the hearing impaired. Christie has participated in Career Day presentations and is involved in the mentoring program to promote the profession of court reporting.
